Antique Victorian mahogany framed Grandmother spoon back chair in velvet button back

£275.00

Antique Victorian mahogany framed Grandmother button back armchair
I also have a matching Grandfather chair, although the colour is slightly more green, please see my other listings

Solid mahogany frame with a scrolled spoon back and front turned baluster legs
All legs are on castors (the front castors appear to be newer replacements in brass)
Upholstered in green velvet, original sprung base

62cm wide x 62cm deep x 90cm high
Seat height 38cm

The wood has been cleaned, oiled and polished, but there is some wear. There is a historical repair on the front right scroll which still feels a little loose. The wood has split slightly on the back at the one of the original joins but the structure is solid and does not affect the integrity of the chair. The legs are a little uneven, but there is no movement in the joints. There are some scuffs as to be expected for its age and use. There is an indentation on seat from storage, which I’m not confident will come out and a small tear in the fabric near one of the scrolls. Otherwise, the upholstery is in reasonable condition, although the trim has come off in places and would benefit from being replaced. Some historical wood worm on one back leg, which is inactive, but has been treated to be sure. Please see photos for more details.

Charming antique chair in solid mahogany. Good overall condition.
